Construction works at the Likomba market in Tiko municipality to give it a new facelift has started.
As the country drive towards emergency in 2035, Tiko Council, the gateway city under the stewardship of Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III is not left out.
One of its main Market, the Likomba market for the past days has been a bee hive as construction works are ongoing to transformed it into a modern market.
During a visit to the site on Wednesday February 19, 2025, the chief Shepherd of Tiko municipality, Mayor Mesoso III accompanied by the fourth Deputy Mayor Waindim Rudolf, chief of Town Planning Engineer John Esunge and some of his close collaborators had a one on one meeting with the Traders of likomba market.
Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III called on the traders to collaborate with the Contractors by demolishing their structures to ease the work.
The construction works that will last for three to Four Months will see the construction of close up stalls and Hangars.
Mayor Mesoso III also announced that, the Likomba market will witness the installation of Standby Taps and construction of Toilets that will help to increase the Hygiene and sanitation situation of the market.
It should be noted the Likomba market which is a source of revenue for the Tiko Council, for the past has been crying for rehabilitation which Mayor HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III is about to transformed into a modern market.
